1/25/2024 0 Comments Kipper the dogThis isn’t a girl who’s going to lick your face off non-stop. Kipper showers us with affection every chance she gets however she isn’t too much with it. We don’t want to take advantage of her sweetness! We make sure not to put her in situations with dogs that may be a bit overbearing though. She has become quite the hit lady around the rescue quickly becoming friends with all of our “big boys” including Mickey, Brown, Jeff and Brady! She has a wonderful, inviting play style that is a hit with a lot of our dogs. We are continuing to slowly bring her into new situations that will help build her confidence. With each passing day Kipper has grown more comfortable in her new environment and subsequently the pancakes happen less frequently. That, along with walking with a doggie buddy, usually does the trick to get her up and moving forward. When this happens, we sit with her, use food to change the channel and give her seem motivating words of encouragement. She sometimes “pancakes” when her surroundings become too overwhelming. Similar to her buddy Biscuit, the first few walks around the farm property were a bit scary for Kip. You can’t help but call deeply in love with her gentle nature and the warm kindness that flows all around her. She may prop her two front legs up on your shoulders to get closer to you, too. When first meeting you Kipper will humbly make herself small, curl into your body with a low tail wag and rest her head against yours. She has gorgeous black and white split face markings that is pretty rare for her potential breed mix along with an adorable pittie petite body. Lowkey energy, super friendly with everyone she meets with a hint of practical caution… Kipper checks all the boxes for a wonderfully charming companion. So he needed to be bumped up to a level 7. He got up to level 4 like most dogs do, and then a squirrel tempted him through the fence. Because of that set of traits, Kipper learned the boundaries of his dog fence in just a couple days, but he needed a high correction level to keep the stubborn side at bay. Like many Brittany Spaniels, he’s a very smart guy with a little streak of independence and stubbornness. He is one of the most obedient dogs we’ve ever worked with. He continued sprinting across his yard and sniffing after squirrels, but his family could trust that he was just a call away. Not long after arriving on American soil, Kipper got a DogWatch dog fence. But sometimes he also loved following his nose and romping around the neighborhood while his family wondered where he went. Kipper instantly loved the rolling grassy yard with the occasional squirrel. Kipper spent three years there and learned all about a dog’s life in Europe.Īnd then in 2016 the family moved to Chanhassen. He was born in Canada too, and then the whole family moved all the way to Poland. His family consists of two parents and three adorable kids from Canada. Kipper is a wonderful French Brittany Spaniel with a cool story.
